Our Doctor

A San Diego native, Dr. Danny VanDan has worked in optometry for over 25 years. His journey in eyecare began right after high school, working in private practices as front desk, optician, technician, and office manager. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in General Biology at the University of California, San Diego, he earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois, graduating with honors in 2013.

Dr. VanDan’s clinical experience spans independent offices, corporate settings, large optometric groups, VA hospitals, and school-based eyecare. His accolades include Colleague of the Year (2010), Cribb Leadership and Service (2013), Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society (2013), and People’s Choice Award for Optometrist, Lamar, CO (2014). 

Now based in Aurora, Colorado, he is passionate about patient-focused care, mentoring students, training optometrists, and community service. Dr. VanDan is proud to be a father of three young children, two daughters and a son, and to support his wife, who is an active leader in Denver’s Asian American community, running a local magazine and a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating Asian American culture.
